Matterport is one of the top digital twin companies globally across many verticals.
As a Staff Designer, and then as a Product Design Manager, I spearhead design efforts for a large range of impactful projects, elevating the Creator, Manager, and Editor experiences for millions of users.
Key accomplishments during my time at Matterport include orchestrating and executing a key redesign of our core Capture app in which we integrated our mobile app with our cloud experience, leading our strategy for accessibility, generative AI, and XR, and launching two hardware devices.
I also built enterprise functionality including field notes and an integration with Autodesk Construction Cloud, led the release of our Android app and industry defining smartphone capture for Android, and shaped future product experiences across mobile, web, datafication, and more.
My Role
Started off as the sole product designer on our mobile apps and hardware, now managing our mobile apps, hardware, design system, and product led growth areas.
Working closely with leaders from Product, Engineering, and Vision teams across different teams to drive early-stage discovery and planning.
Creating roadmaps, staffing plans, and long-term strategies for a group focused on achieving success in the future.
Impact
Was the product designer, and supported on industrial design, for a brand new connected hardware class, which reduced churn by 205% and won the Japanese “Good Design award of Best 100”
Redesigned and modernized Matterport’s flagship mobile app, bringing the experience in line with user needs and expectations and increased NPS 16 points
Launched our Android app and three new ways of capturing (using your Android phone, using an Axis, and importing 360 panoramas), leading to a 77.5% increase in YoY spaces created.
Revamped the product design team and implemented systems for tracking, planning, and staffing
Designed the experience for our flagship Pro3 camera, which went on to revolutionize scanner's workflows.
During my time at Matterport, some of my favorite work has been in the definition, creation, and evolution of the functionality we offered for our creators and editors, both across our 2D and connected hardware experiences.
Each one of these images were individual projects with separate goals and objectives, user experience research, engineering collaboration, product and design thinking, and quantitative study. These allow our customers to collaborate, manage their spaces, and create data using new forms of capture. Individual case studies are available upon request.
