Hi, I'm Vivek

(Vee-vick, or just V works)

I'm a product designer who figures out what to build, designs it, ships it, and measures whether it worked. Research, PRDs, launch coordination, analytics — I do whatever the product needs. I do my best work on zero-to-one problems with small teams.

Currently at Polycam, leading design and product across fullstack and mobile. I've taken projects from "leadership won't prioritize this" to shipped and moving metrics, more than once.

At Matterport I led design for mobile and hardware across three roles over four years. I got Cloud Sync prioritized after years of it being ignored (87% NPS increase), shipped a hardware device that won Japan's Good Design Award, and led the AI strategy work that defined the company's three-year roadmap. A year later, CoStar acquired Matterport for $1.6B.

At Sureify I owned both design and scope on a low-code configuration tool. When the initial approach went sideways I stepped in to redefine the MVP and build a handoff process for a distributed engineering team. What used to take carriers 2-3 weeks now ships in hours.

Hi-Im-V

What I bring

I've shipped zero-to-one products multiple times, including hardware, which you can't patch after launch.
I don't need someone to hand me a problem. I find the problems, validate they matter, and go build.
I don't need a full team around me to operate. I've run my own research, built financial models, and presented to execs because the work needed it, not because it was my job title.
Steep learning curves don't slow me down. Insurance underwriting, 3D spatial computing, hardware firmware, enterprise access control. I've gone deep in all of them.
I've built the design side of teams, not just products. Established crit processes, ran design systems work, mentored junior designers, conducted hiring loops. I know what it takes to go from "just me" to a functioning design org because I've done the early version of it.

Beyond the Case Studies

Shipped across every surface: iOS, Android, Web, Vision Pro, hardware (Axis, Pro3 camera firmware)
End-to-end product ownership: RBAC and enterprise access control, SSO, new paywall system, folders, localization
Growth and GTM: Launch decks, Braze campaigns, analytics dashboards, customer positioning, packaging and quick-start guides
Integrations: Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore
Creative and spatial: AI capture guidance, 3D generator, Spatial Reports, Roof Reports, multi-story capture

Awards and Patents

Japan Good Design Award (Best 100, 2022) — Axis was recognized alongside the Xbox Adaptive Controller, Nissan Ariya, and Magic Leap 2.
USPTO Patent — Named inventor on Matterport's Genesis defurnishing patent, covering the AI system for removing interior elements from 3D spaces.

When I'm not designing, I'm making things with my CNC machine.

And when I'm not in Blender or Fusion 360, you can find me carrying my dad's 30-year-old film camera around the world and taking mostly in-focus pictures.
